About Torvill and Dean
Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, known as Torvill and Dean, or Olympic gold medalist ice dancers from Nottingham, England. They are most renowned for their Bolero performance at the 1984 Olympics, where they received six 6.0s (perfect scores) for their remarkable and innovative performance. In their entire competitive career, they received a record of 136 perfect 6.0s.
Although they officially retired from competition in 1984, Torvill and Dean skated
together professionally for years afterwards, and toured with the Stars on Ice
figure skating show tour. In 1993 and 1994, they briefly returned to
competition, winning the 1994 European Championships gold medal,
and the bronze medal in ice dance at the Winter 1994 Olympics.
