About Tara Lipinski
Tara Lipinski, born June 10, 1982, won the Olympics ladies figure skating gold medal at the 1998 Olympics when she was only 15 years old. In 1997 and 1998, she also won the World Champions, U.S. National Championships, and Grand Prix Figure Skating Competition Final. Flaming like a comet, she briefly rose to the top of the figure skating world, and then retired.
Due primarily to a hip injury which limited her capacity to successfully compete, Tara turned professional soon after winning the Olympics, and for several years toured with Stars on Ice figure skating show. In recent years, Tara has also taken up acting, continued with charity work, and custom-built a home on an island off South Carolina.
