Tara Lipinski is the youngest skater to win the Olympics gold medal in figure skating - she was only 15 years old at the 1998 Olympics when she placed first in ladies figure skating. During 1997 - 1998, she also won the World Championships, U.S. National Championships and Grand Prix Figure Skating Competitions. Due primarily to a hip injury, Tara turned professional soon after winning the Olympics, and for several years toured with Stars on Ice figure skating show.
