Galler-Rabinowitz and Mitchell

Loren Galler-Rabinowitz was born January 19, 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts, David Mitchell on April 23, 1982 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They both skate with the Skating Club of Boston, where they have been coached by Barett Brown, Tom Lescinski; however, in recent years they have been training with Natalia Dubova in Stamford, Connecticut. Their choreographers are Antonio Najarro and Marina Anissina. Recent programs include Bessa Me Rhumba, Maria by Ricky Martin, and Variations on a Tango by Astor Piazolla.

Galler-Rabinowitz and Mitchell won first place in the novice figure skating competition of the 2000 U.S. State Farm National Championships, and two years later, first place in ice dance in the juniors competition. They entered seniors competition in 2003, placed third in senior ice dance at the 2004 U.S. National Championships, and fourth in the Nebelhorn Trophy international figure skating competition in 2004.

Loren began skating at the of two, David at age eight. Both are talented off the ice as well as on the ice. Loren enjoys poetry, painting and ballet, and excels as a pianist - she won first place in the Massachusetts piano competition while competing nationally and internationally in figure skating. At the same time, David, who enjoys woodworking, cooking, reading and baseball, completed his bachelors degree in political science from Tufts University.

Galler-Rabinowitz and Mitchell's performances at the yearly Evening with Champions show in Cambridge, are a joy to watch. They are a very graceful and polished ice dance couple who skate with flair, performing elegant and dramatic ice dance moves. Having talked with them afterwards at the reception, I can also attest to the fact that they are also very warm and engaging human beings.

Loren's motto is "Fall down seven times, stand up eight." David's is "Nothing is impossible." Although they were disappointed not to be able to compete in the 2006 Olympics, their aim is to make the Olympics ice dance team in 2010. Already they are moving up the senior ranks.........
